If there is one food that reminds me of my childhood, it’s apple tart. I did most of my apple tart eating during summer holidays in Ireland, where an apple tart has a pastry lid, apple, and a pastry base. I am aware that the pastry lid makes this an apple pie in other countries where they consider an apple tart to be open, with apple and pastry base only.

Anyway. Whether you call it apple pie or apple tart or tarte aux pommes, I’m going to test every recipe I can find so I can decide on which one will be my preferred option. Wish me luck.
